Cleaning your nonstick cookware after each use is key to maintaining the performance and longevity of the nonstick coating. Hand-washing is recommended to maximize your nonstick cookware's lifetime.
It's important to always wait for your nonstick cookware to cool off prior to washing; cold water in a hot pan causes thermal shock which damages the nonstick coating and warps the pan.
Hand-Washing
Hand-wash your nonstick cookware with a soft sponge or cloth and warm soapy water after each use. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, steel wool, and scrubbing pads as these could damage the nonstick coating. After washing, thoroughly dry the cookware with a soft cloth. For stubborn stains, deep-clean your pan - see below.
Dishwasher
Using the dishwasher to clean nonstick cookware is not recommended as it can damage the nonstick coating. Avoid using harsh dishwashing detergent that contain citrus or bleach. Regular dishwashing may lead to discoloring and darkening of the base of the pan or cookware, this is normal and does not affect cooking performance.
Deep-Cleaning
If food is sticking to your nonstick cookware, there may be residue on the nonstick coating that is causing food to stick. This cannot always be cleaned with regular hand-washing.
To deep-clean your pan and remove this residue: fill the pan with hot soapy water and bring it to a simmer for about 2 minutes, pour out the water and scrub the surface using a non-scratch scrub sponge or soft bristle brush with warm water and dish soap.
